How to treat constipation in children

The problem of constipation in children should not be taken lightly. It can be treated with right diet and lifestyle changes. First of all, encourage children to drink adequate amounts of water during the day.
Include fiber-rich foods like whole grains, green vegetables and fruits in children’s diet. Apples, pears and carrots can help relieve constipation.
Include curd in children’s diet. Yogurt contains probiotics which improve digestion and reduce constipation.
It is also important to involve children in regular physical activities. Sports or light exercise increases intestinal activity and reduces constipation.
If home remedies do not provide relief, consult your pediatrician so that appropriate treatment can be initiated.
