Lack of water can also be a major cause of constipation. When we do not drink enough water, the stool in the intestines becomes hard and does not pass out easily. Make a habit of drinking at least 8-10 glasses of water throughout the day. Hydration makes intestinal movement easier, which makes bowel movements easier. Additionally, hydrating beverages like coconut water, buttermilk and lemon water are also helpful in providing relief from constipation.
